Global business credit data that started in Oslo and now covers 365 million companies

Creditsafe is a business intelligence provider that sells credit reports, scores, monitoring, KYC and B2B prospecting data on companies worldwide. It was founded in Oslo in 1997 with the idea of delivering company information over the then-young internet to small and mid-sized buyers, instead of keeping it inside expensive enterprise contracts.

Today Creditsafe Group runs roughly 27 offices in 16 countries with around 1,500 staff. The Cardiff Bay site in Wales hosts a large shared service centre for the group. Coverage spans more than 365 million company records across 160+ countries, with credit scores, financial statements, ownership and UBO information, and payment behaviour pulled from local registries, banks and Creditsafe's own trade payment programme. In Belgium and the Netherlands the company trades as GraydonCreditsafe after the February 2022 acquisition of Graydon, a Benelux credit information house with roots back to 1888.

What you get once CreditSafe is connected.

Risk against real exposure

Creditsafe scores and limits joined to what each customer actually owes you.

  • Open receivables grouped by score band and by days overdue
  • Exposure per customer measured against the recommended credit limit
  • Portfolio risk per country, sector and sales region

Decisions that act on a score change

Let monitoring alerts reach the systems where the work happens.

  • Score drop below your threshold flags the customer in CRM and ERP
  • New order held for review when exposure passes the recommended limit
  • Director or ownership change on a key supplier routed to the owner of that relationship

AI workflows

Use score history alongside your own payment record to sharpen the call.

  • Which score bands actually predict late payment in your own ledger
  • Customers whose behaviour is deteriorating before the score moves
  • Suggested credit terms per segment, based on what you have been paid

Custom apps on your data

Internal tools for the people who have to make the call.

  • A credit committee view with score, limit, exposure and payment history on one screen
  • An onboarding check that pulls company data before the account is created
  • A watchlist for the accounts your team wants to follow closely

Answers you will finally get.

How much are we owed by customers whose score has dropped?

Open receivables joined to the current Creditsafe score and to the score twelve months ago, per customer. You get a euro figure sitting behind deteriorating companies instead of a count of downgrades, and the customers driving most of that figure show up by name rather than as a band on a chart.

Does the score actually predict who pays us late?

Score bands are compared with your own payment history, per customer and per period. Sometimes the relationship is strong and the rules can be tightened with confidence. Sometimes a segment pays reliably despite a middling score, and that is worth knowing before you refuse an order on a number alone.

Which suppliers would hurt us if they failed next quarter?

Supplier scores and ownership changes are matched to spend and to the products only that supplier delivers. The result ranks suppliers by what their failure would actually cost you, which is a different list from the one ranked by invoice volume.

Where each function gets value.

For finance leaders

Credit control works from one view where the score, the recommended limit, the open balance and the payment history sit together. The monthly provision for doubtful debtors rests on exposure per score band rather than on a rule of thumb, and a downgrade on a large account is visible the week it happens.

For sales leaders

Reps see credit health on the account before they build a proposal, so time goes to deals that will clear the credit check. A prospect that would be refused at order stage is flagged early, which is a better conversation than a signed deal being blocked by finance.

For operations

Order release runs against a rule that combines score, exposure and payment behaviour, so the same decision is taken the same way whoever is on shift. Supplier monitoring flags ownership and insolvency signals against the parts you actually depend on.

What you can automate with CreditSafe.

Pair with Exact Online

Block deliveries when a debtor drops below score in Exact Online

Pipe Creditsafe scores into Exact Online customer cards. When a debtor crosses your internal threshold, flag the account so order entry stops new shipments until credit reviews it.

Pair with HubSpot

Score HubSpot leads on Creditsafe credit health

Match new HubSpot leads to Creditsafe records on VAT or registration number. Push back the score, limit and a risk band so SDRs route on real credit data, not on guesswork about company size.

Pair with Salesforce

Show Creditsafe limit and UBO data on the Salesforce account

Land the Creditsafe credit limit, score, last update and UBO summary on the Salesforce Account. Account managers stop opening a separate Creditsafe tab to answer the same question twice a week.

Pair with Odoo

Sync Creditsafe credit limits to Odoo partners

Push the Creditsafe credit limit straight onto the Odoo partner record so the sales-order workflow respects it. When the limit drops, Odoo blocks new confirmations until the team reviews.

Pair with Slack

Alert Slack on Creditsafe supplier downgrades

Watch the Creditsafe monitoring stream for supplier score drops, director changes and insolvency filings, then post a structured alert to a Slack channel so procurement reacts before the invoice cycle does.

Pair with Sage Accounting

Match Creditsafe risk against open AR in Sage

Combine Creditsafe scores and limits with the Sage Accounting AR ledger so finance sees risk and exposure on one screen instead of cross-checking two tools at month-end.

From CreditSafe to answers in three steps.

01

Connect securely

OAuth authentication. Read-only by default. We sign a DPA and your admin keeps the keys.

02

Land in your warehouse

Data flows into your warehouse on your schedule. Near real time or nightly, your call. You own the data.

03

Reporting, automation, AI

We build the first dashboard, workflow or AI feature with you, then hand over the keys. Or we stay on for ongoing delivery.

Pick the track that fits how you work.

Track 01

Self-serve

We set up the foundation. Your team builds on top.

  • CreditSafe connector configured and running
  • Warehouse set up in your cloud account
  • Clean access for your Power BI, Fabric or Tableau team
  • Documentation on what's in the data model
  • Sync monitoring so you're warned before reports break

Best fit Teams that already have a BI analyst or data engineer and want to own the build.

Track 02

Done for you

We build the whole thing, end to end.

  • Everything in Self-serve
  • Dashboards built to the questions your team actually asks
  • Automations between your systems
  • AI workflows scoped to real tasks your team runs
  • Custom apps where a dashboard does not cut it
  • Ongoing delivery at a pace that fits your team

Best fit Teams without in-house BI or dev capacity. You tell us what you need and we deliver it.

Frequently asked questions.

Who owns the data?

You do. It lands in your warehouse, on your cloud account. We don't resell or aggregate it. If you stop working with us, the warehouse stays yours and keeps running.

How fresh is the data?

Near real time for most operational systems. For heavier sources we schedule hourly or nightly. You pick based on what the reports need.

Do I need a warehouse already?

No. If you don't have one, we help you pick one and set it up as part of the first delivery. Common starting points are Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a small Postgres start.
