About Magento

The commerce engine for the complicated shops.

Magento started in 2007 as open-source e-commerce software built on PHP, moved under eBay, then Permira, and has been part of Adobe since 2018 as Adobe Commerce. The open-source edition and the paid Adobe Commerce edition share the same core, with more than 150,000 live stores between them. It is the platform merchants pick when the catalog is deep, the pricing rules are negotiated per customer, the stores cover multiple brands or countries, and the fulfilment model is anything other than a single warehouse.

The point of pulling Magento into a warehouse is that most Magento shops outgrow their own reports quickly. Cross-store margin, B2B contract profitability, return rate by SKU and attribution from ad spend to paid revenue live across tables, stores and integrations. Next to your accounting, payments and CRM data, those answers stop being three exports that never agree on the same total.

What your Magento data is for

What you get once Magento is connected.

Multi-store reporting

One profit picture across stores, brands and countries instead of five dashboards that drift apart.

  • Margin per store, brand and customer group
  • B2B contract profitability by account
  • Return rate per SKU and per store

Commerce automation

Keep Magento in sync with the accounting, payment and CRM systems around it.

  • Orders and refunds into Exact Online
  • B2B accounts tied back to Salesforce
  • Stripe payouts reconciled to Magento invoices

AI workflows

Turn Magento's order, customer and catalog history into forecasts worth acting on.

  • Demand forecasting by SKU and store
  • Churn scoring for repeat buyers
  • B2B pricing suggestions based on margin bands

Custom apps on your data

Internal tools on top of Magento data for people who should not be logging into Magento admin.

  • Customer-service lookup with full order history
  • Merchandiser board with sell-through and margin
  • Account-manager dashboard for B2B buyers

Real business questions

Answers you will finally get.

Which store or brand is paying the group's bills?

Profit per store and per brand after goods cost, fulfilment and return, on one timeline. Surfaces the store that is running on volume without margin, next to the store that is quietly subsidising the group.

Which B2B accounts are profitable on their negotiated price?

Negotiated B2B pricing against actual landed cost per account, including returns and the cost-to-serve. Flags the account whose annual contract is underwater and needs a renegotiation conversation before the renewal.

Which SKUs return so often they erase their own margin?

Return rate by SKU next to gross margin, ranked by absolute margin at risk. Separates the product with a twenty-percent return rate that still earns from the one whose returns have quietly wiped out the quarter's contribution.

Value for everyone in the organisation

Where each function gets value.

For finance leaders

Cross-store margin with goods, fulfilment and returns handled consistently, plus VAT per jurisdiction ready for filing. Month-end stops being a scramble between Magento, the accounting package and five separate marketplace reports.

For sales leaders

B2B account profitability next to contract value, with renewal dates visible. Account managers walk into a renewal call knowing whether the account earns the discount it wants extended.

For operations

Inventory sell-through, fulfilment cost per order and return rate per SKU in one place. Supplier conversations and warehouse layout decisions move from gut feel to the data already flowing through Magento.

Ideas

What you can automate with Magento.

Pair with Exact Online

Post Magento orders and refunds into Exact Online

Magento orders land in Exact Online as sales invoices with VAT treatment, discounts and shipping allocated correctly. Refunds post as credit notes against the original invoice so the Benelux month-end close stops waiting on a weekly Magento export.

Pair with Salesforce

Sync B2B accounts between Magento and Salesforce

Magento company accounts, contacts and contract pricing mirror Salesforce accounts and opportunities. Sales sees order history on the account record, and the B2B catalog reflects Salesforce tier and renewal status without a nightly export.

Pair with HubSpot

Drive HubSpot lifecycle on Magento buyer behaviour

Magento orders, average order value and last-order date push into HubSpot as contact properties. Post-purchase email, winback sequences and B2B reorder prompts run on real buying signal instead of a monthly list import.

Pair with Stripe

Reconcile Stripe payouts with Magento invoices

Stripe payouts are matched back to the Magento invoices and credit notes they settle, with fees separated. The Magento open-invoice list reflects what Stripe has already cleared, and finance stops reconciling three tabs on the fifth of the month.

Data model

Tables we make available.

These are the 7 tables we currently pull from Magento into your warehouse. Query them directly in SQL, join them to the rest of your stack, or build reports on top.

  • Categories
  • Customers
  • Invoices
  • Order Items
  • Orders
  • Products
  • Shipments

Missing a table you need? We can extend the sync. Tell us what is missing and we will build it for you.

Your existing tools

Your data lands in a warehouse. Your BI tools read from it.

You keep the reporting tool you already have. We connect it to the warehouse where your Magento data lives.

Three steps

From Magento to answers in three steps.

01

Connect securely

OAuth authentication. Read-only by default. We sign a DPA and your admin keeps the keys.

02

Land in your warehouse

Data flows into your warehouse on your schedule. Near real time or nightly, your call. You own the data.

03

Reporting, automation, AI

We build the first dashboard, workflow or AI feature with you, then hand over the keys. Or we stay on for ongoing delivery.

Two ways to work with us

Pick the track that fits how you work.

Track 01

Self-serve

We set up the foundation. Your team builds on top.

  • Magento connector configured and running
  • Warehouse set up in your cloud account
  • Clean access for your Power BI, Fabric or Tableau team
  • Documentation on what's in the data model
  • Sync monitoring so you're warned before reports break

Best fit Teams that already have a BI analyst or data engineer and want to own the build.

Track 02

Done for you

We build the whole thing, end to end.

  • Everything in Self-serve
  • Dashboards built to the questions your team actually asks
  • Automations between your systems
  • AI workflows scoped to real tasks your team runs
  • Custom apps where a dashboard does not cut it
  • Ongoing delivery at a pace that fits your team

Best fit Teams without in-house BI or dev capacity. You tell us what you need and we deliver it.

Before you book

Frequently asked questions.

Who owns the data?

You do. It lands in your warehouse, on your cloud account. We don't resell or aggregate it. If you stop working with us, the warehouse stays yours and keeps running.

How fresh is the data?

Near real time for most operational systems. For heavier sources we schedule hourly or nightly. You pick based on what the reports need.

Do I need a warehouse already?

No. If you don't have one, we help you pick one and set it up as part of the first delivery. Common starting points are Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a small Postgres start.

Does the connector work for both Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce?

Yes. The data model is shared between the two editions, and we pick up both the core sales, catalog and customer tables and the extra B2B, staging and shared catalog features that only exist on Adobe Commerce. Customers on Open Source can switch to Adobe Commerce later without breaking the warehouse schema.

How are multiple stores, websites and store views handled?

Each website, store and store view comes across as a first-class dimension in the warehouse. Reports can stay at store-view level for localisation analysis, roll up to store or website for brand-level P&L, or go all the way to group level for consolidated numbers, without flattening the hierarchy.
