About Mattermark

A private-company database built around growth signals.

Mattermark is a deal-intelligence platform that tracks private companies and the events that move them: funding rounds, headcount changes, web traffic, news mentions and a proprietary growth score. The company was founded in 2012 by Danielle Morrill and Kevin Morrill and built its early reputation among VC analysts and outbound sales teams who needed a structured view on the startup landscape rather than a stack of news alerts.

The product was acquired by FullContact in December 2017, then relaunched as an independent company in February 2019 with the original founders back in charge and a renewed focus on private deal intelligence. Today Mattermark covers roughly four million companies and about twenty million contacts, with REST and GraphQL APIs, a web app, CSV and PDF export, spreadsheet plugins, a browser extension and a Salesforce integration.

The point of pulling Mattermark into a warehouse is that growth signals are most useful where they meet the rest of the deal cycle. A funding round, a hiring spike or a growth-score jump only matters once it lines up with whether your team has met the founder, whether the account is in your CRM, whether outbound has tried it before, and what happened the last time you reached out. Inside Mattermark those signals stay a list. In a warehouse they become an input to deal flow, ICP scoring and pipeline review.

Ideas

What you can automate with Mattermark.

Pair with Salesforce

Push Mattermark companies and rounds onto Salesforce accounts

Mattermark companies, funding rounds, headcount snapshots and growth scores land on the matching Salesforce account as fields and timeline events. AEs open an account and see the latest round, hiring trend and growth-score band without switching tabs, and RevOps can trend Mattermark-sourced pipeline against the rest of the book.

Pair with HubSpot

Surface Mattermark signals on HubSpot companies

Mattermark company, round and growth-score data lands on the HubSpot company record, with new-round and hiring-spike events posting to the deal timeline. Marketing can build workflows that only fire on a freshly funded ICP company, and sales stops chasing accounts whose growth score has been flat for four quarters.

Pair with Affinity

Feed Mattermark companies and rounds into Affinity deal flow

Mattermark companies that match a fund's thesis arrive in Affinity as new opportunities, with the latest funding round, headcount delta and growth-score history attached. Partners triage inbound deal flow against a single record that already shows whether the firm has met the founder before, and analysts stop maintaining a parallel spreadsheet of watch-list companies.

Pair with Slack

Post Mattermark signals into deal-room Slack channels

A new funding round or growth-score jump on a watch-list company posts into the right Slack channel, with the company snapshot and the partner who owns the relationship mentioned. The team learns about a relevant move the same morning it shows up in Mattermark, instead of two weeks later in a digest email.

Pair with monday.com

Track Mattermark deal flow as monday.com items

Mattermark companies that pass an inbound filter become items on a monday.com board with status, owner and next step. Investment teams that already run weekly pipeline meetings on monday keep one workflow rather than juggling Mattermark exports, a spreadsheet and the meeting agenda.

Pair with Calendly

Trigger Calendly outreach off a Mattermark signal

When Mattermark flags a fresh round or hiring spike on a target account, the matching contact gets a personal Calendly invite from the right partner or AE, with the signal in the message body. Outreach goes out the day the signal lands, and the booked-meeting rate per signal type is measurable inside the warehouse.

Three steps

From Mattermark to answers in three steps.

01

Connect securely

OAuth authentication. Read-only by default. We sign a DPA and your admin keeps the keys.

02

Land in your warehouse

Data flows into your warehouse on your schedule. Near real time or nightly, your call. You own the data.

03

Reporting, automation, AI

We build the first dashboard, workflow or AI feature with you, then hand over the keys. Or we stay on for ongoing delivery.

Two ways to work with us

Pick the track that fits how you work.

Track 01

Self-serve

We set up the foundation. Your team builds on top.

  • Mattermark connector configured and running
  • Warehouse set up in your cloud account
  • Clean access for your Power BI, Fabric or Tableau team
  • Documentation on what's in the data model
  • Sync monitoring so you're warned before reports break

Best fit Teams that already have a BI analyst or data engineer and want to own the build.

Track 02

Done for you

We build the whole thing, end to end.

  • Everything in Self-serve
  • Dashboards built to the questions your team actually asks
  • Automations between your systems
  • AI workflows scoped to real tasks your team runs
  • Custom apps where a dashboard does not cut it
  • Ongoing delivery at a pace that fits your team

Best fit Teams without in-house BI or dev capacity. You tell us what you need and we deliver it.

Before you book

Frequently asked questions.

Who owns the data?

You do. It lands in your warehouse, on your cloud account. We don't resell or aggregate it. If you stop working with us, the warehouse stays yours and keeps running.

How fresh is the data?

Near real time for most operational systems. For heavier sources we schedule hourly or nightly. You pick based on what the reports need.

Do I need a warehouse already?

No. If you don't have one, we help you pick one and set it up as part of the first delivery. Common starting points are Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a small Postgres start.
