About Piwik Pro
The privacy-first alternative to Google Analytics.
Piwik Pro grew out of the original Piwik open-source project in 2013, split off completely by 2016 and has since been operated independently of Matomo, the open-source successor. It now positions itself as a privacy-first analytics and data-activation platform, covering Analytics, Tag Manager, Consent Manager and an audience-level Customer Data module. Its buyers sit heavily in GDPR-sensitive sectors, government and regulated industries that want behavioural data on their own hosting rather than inside Google's ad ecosystem.
The point of pulling Piwik Pro into a warehouse is that the audience, goal and consent logic that legal signed off on lives in Piwik Pro and the customer record it should reach lives in CRM and commerce. Audiences built on compliant tracking stop at the Piwik Pro boundary unless someone rebuilds them by hand on the other side. In a warehouse, the Piwik Pro audience, the goal it crossed and the consent the visitor gave land on the matching HubSpot contact, Salesforce account or Shopify customer, and marketing stops exporting CSVs between two tools that each see half the picture.
