About Silverfin

Where the accountancy firm does its real work.

Silverfin was founded in Belgium and now sits inside the Visma group. It is aimed squarely at accountancy firms, not at SME bookkeepers: working papers, accounts production, corporation tax, review workflows and a data hub that sits on top of the bookkeeping system the client already uses. Firms across more than fifteen countries run on it, from boutique offices to the international networks.

The point of pulling Silverfin into a warehouse is that Silverfin is built for the file, and firm leadership needs a view across the files. Deadlines at risk, recurring review comments, partner-level utilisation and revenue per client all live across hundreds of client environments. In a warehouse, the firm-wide picture becomes a dashboard instead of a portfolio manager's memory.

What your Silverfin data is for

What you get once Silverfin is connected.

Firm-wide reporting

Deadlines, review quality and partner load across every client file, not one at a time.

  • Deadlines at risk this quarter, per partner
  • Recurring review comments by template and by reviewer
  • Revenue per client next to hours spent and recurring fee

File-to-firm automation

Let the firm stack react to what a Silverfin file already knows.

  • Exact Online or Yuki balances flow into Silverfin mapping
  • Partner utilisation pushes into the staffing system
  • Filing deadlines sync into the firm calendar

AI workflows

Use Silverfin history to score risk, classify comments and predict deadline slip.

  • Deadline-slip scoring before the review starts
  • Risk scoring on clients whose balances drift between periods
  • Review-comment clustering for training and firm-wide policy

Custom apps on your data

Internal tools for partners and office managers that Silverfin does not ship.

  • Partner workbench with files in review, overdue and pending
  • Client-health board for recurring engagements
  • Recovery dashboard when a reviewer is out of office

Real business questions

Answers you will finally get.

Which files are drifting toward a missed deadline?

Files with a filing date inside ninety days, the stage they are stuck in, the hours booked this quarter and whether a partner has signed off. Ranks by revenue and by risk so the managing partner knows which ten files to walk into.

Where is the same review comment being repeated across the firm?

Recurring comments grouped by template and by reviewer, across every client file. Exposes the firm-wide training or template issue that nobody noticed, because each reviewer was only seeing it on their own portfolio.

Which clients are a retention risk?

Clients whose balances drift unexpectedly between periods, whose engagement was reassigned recently or whose hours delivered exceed the recurring fee. Sits next to the renewal date so the relationship conversation happens before the client is already shopping.

Value for everyone in the organisation

Where each function gets value.

For finance leaders

Revenue per client, per partner and per office against hours delivered, with recurring-fee realisation over time. Fee-setting conversations move from spreadsheet to a view that already knows where the profit is draining.

For sales leaders

Pipeline of new engagements, proposal-to-signed conversion and cross-sell to existing clients, per partner. The growth conversation at the monthly partner meeting stops leaning on who remembers which proposal is out.

For operations

Deadline-slip risk, reviewer coverage and recurring-comment clusters in one board. Resourcing decisions and template updates happen against data, not against the loudest portfolio manager in the room.

Ideas

What you can automate with Silverfin.

Pair with Exact Online

Flow Exact Online balances into Silverfin files

Exact Online client balances push into the Silverfin mapping with account codes reconciled and period locks respected. The firm stops re-importing trial balances every month and starts working against live numbers that already match the bookkeeping.

Pair with Yuki

Consolidate Yuki clients into Silverfin working papers

Yuki administrations for every client in the portfolio push their ledger into Silverfin with VAT codes, cost centres and period state intact. Firms serving Dutch SMEs stop running two tools side by side and start using Silverfin as the review layer on top.

Pair with Teamleader Focus

Run Teamleader Focus clients through Silverfin review

SME clients that live in Teamleader Focus for their sales and services side have their invoice and expense data flow into Silverfin for year-end work. The firm reviews on the same dataset the client closes on, without a separate quarterly extraction.

Pair with Odoo

Bring Odoo-running clients into Silverfin

Clients running Odoo as their ERP push the relevant journal, AR and AP data into Silverfin on the firm's schedule, with multi-company consolidation handled. Review workflows in Silverfin cover the whole group instead of a single Odoo company.

Data model

Tables we make available.

These are the 2 tables we currently pull from Silverfin into your warehouse. Query them directly in SQL, join them to the rest of your stack, or build reports on top.

Missing a table you need? We can extend the sync. Tell us what is missing and we will build it for you.

Your existing tools

Your data lands in a warehouse. Your BI tools read from it.

You keep the reporting tool you already have. We connect it to the warehouse where your Silverfin data lives.

Three steps

From Silverfin to answers in three steps.

01

Connect securely

OAuth authentication. Read-only by default. We sign a DPA and your admin keeps the keys.

02

Land in your warehouse

Data flows into your warehouse on your schedule. Near real time or nightly, your call. You own the data.

03

Reporting, automation, AI

We build the first dashboard, workflow or AI feature with you, then hand over the keys. Or we stay on for ongoing delivery.

Two ways to work with us

Pick the track that fits how you work.

Track 01

Self-serve

We set up the foundation. Your team builds on top.

  • Silverfin connector configured and running
  • Warehouse set up in your cloud account
  • Clean access for your Power BI, Fabric or Tableau team
  • Documentation on what's in the data model
  • Sync monitoring so you're warned before reports break

Best fit Teams that already have a BI analyst or data engineer and want to own the build.

Track 02

Done for you

We build the whole thing, end to end.

  • Everything in Self-serve
  • Dashboards built to the questions your team actually asks
  • Automations between your systems
  • AI workflows scoped to real tasks your team runs
  • Custom apps where a dashboard does not cut it
  • Ongoing delivery at a pace that fits your team

Best fit Teams without in-house BI or dev capacity. You tell us what you need and we deliver it.

Before you book

Frequently asked questions.

Who owns the data?

You do. It lands in your warehouse, on your cloud account. We don't resell or aggregate it. If you stop working with us, the warehouse stays yours and keeps running.

How fresh is the data?

Near real time for most operational systems. For heavier sources we schedule hourly or nightly. You pick based on what the reports need.

Do I need a warehouse already?

No. If you don't have one, we help you pick one and set it up as part of the first delivery. Common starting points are Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a small Postgres start.

Does the sync give us per-client and firm-level reporting at the same time?

Yes. Each client environment lands in its own schema so file-level reports stay honest and detailed, while firm-wide dashboards roll up across schemas with anonymisation where needed. Offices, networks and individual partners all get a view scoped to what they are allowed to see.

What happens when Silverfin templates or mappings change?

Template versions and mapping changes are kept historically so prior-year comparatives still line up after a template update. Review-comment clusters and deadline reports follow the current template but remember the old structure, which is usually the difference between a clean comparison and a confusing one.
