About Tipalti

The mass-payout layer for businesses that pay the world, not just the US.

Tipalti was founded in 2010 by Chen Amit and Oren Zeev with offices in Foster City, California and Israel. The product covers payee onboarding, tax-form collection, invoice intake, AP approval, payment execution across more than a hundred and ninety countries in over a hundred and twenty currencies, and the tax and regulatory paperwork that follows. Marketplaces, ad networks, gig platforms and content businesses are the core customer base.

Tipalti is not a US-centric AP tool, and it is not a corporate card. Where BILL handles the US AP queue and Ramp or Brex run card spend, Tipalti is the rail for businesses that need to pay thousands of vendors, freelancers, affiliates or creators in many countries and methods. Bank transfer, ACH, PayPal, prepaid card and wire all live behind one approval flow, with W-9 and W-8 collection, VAT validation and 1099 and 1042 reporting attached to the payee fiche. Pulling that into a warehouse is the moment per-payout cost by country and method, the FX spread on each payout batch and the tax-form coverage gap stop hiding behind a tab in the Tipalti hub. Payee economics, payout reliability and compliance posture finally read next to revenue and the rest of finance.

Real business questions

Answers you will finally get.

What does a payout cost us once fees and FX spread are in?

Per-payout fee, method-specific cost and FX margin between the mid-market rate and the rate Tipalti applied, broken out by country and currency corridor. The conversation about payment-method strategy stops being a quote from the Tipalti rate card and starts being a number on real payee volume.

Which payees are blocking us from being 1099 or 1042 ready?

The payee book joined to W-8 and W-9 status, with expired and missing forms ranked by year-to-date paid amount. Tax season stops being a January scramble to chase paperwork from the highest-paid payees and becomes a fix-list the AP team works through in autumn.

How long does it take a new payee to get from invited to paid?

Cycle time from onboarding invite to first cleared payment, with the step that holds each payee, the country corridor and the method. The platform team sees that one country flow loses three days to the wrong tax-form template, before the affiliate complains in support.

Value for everyone in the organisation

Where each function gets value.

For finance leaders

Per-country payout cost, FX spread, AP cycle time and tax-form coverage refreshed daily, with the Tipalti workflow data sitting next to NetSuite or Sage Intacct actuals. 1099 and 1042 readiness is a year-round number, not a January fire drill.

For sales leaders

For partner managers, the affiliate or creator account on the CRM shows paid-to-date, next payout, payment method and any blocked-payment flag from Tipalti. The conversation with the partner stops needing a screenshot from the AP team.

For operations

Onboarding cycle time and stuck steps per country corridor, with failed-payment reasons grouped by method. Ops sees the country where the wrong tax-form template costs three days per payee, before churn shows up in the affiliate program.

Ideas

What you can automate with Tipalti.

Pair with NetSuite

Post Tipalti bills and payments into NetSuite with subsidiary and class intact

Bills approved in Tipalti post into NetSuite as AP transactions with subsidiary, class, department and location preserved on every line. Payment status, FX rate and per-payout fee come back so the controller reads one ledger, the AP team works one queue, and dimensional payout reporting in NetSuite stops missing the workflow context that lived only in Tipalti.

Pair with Sage Intacct

Sync Tipalti AP into Sage Intacct with dimensions intact

For groups running Sage Intacct on the operating company, Tipalti bills, payments and FX rates land in Intacct as AP transactions with location, department, project and class dimensions preserved. The global payout book and the dimensional ledger stay aligned without re-keying invoices into Intacct by hand.

Pair with Salesforce

Mirror Salesforce partner and affiliate accounts as Tipalti payees

Salesforce account records that double as Tipalti payees stay aligned on tax ID, country, payment method and contact. New partners created on a Salesforce account spawn a draft Tipalti payee with the right onboarding flow, and paid-to-date plus next-payout flow back onto the account fiche so partner managers stop pinging AP for status.

Pair with Slack

Push Tipalti approvals into Slack

Bills above a configured threshold trigger an approval prompt in the relevant Slack channel or DM, with payee, country, amount, method and FX corridor on the card. The approver acts in Slack, the decision flows back to Tipalti, and the AP queue stops waiting on email reminders the night before a payout cycle.

Three steps

From Tipalti to answers in three steps.

01

Connect securely

OAuth authentication. Read-only by default. We sign a DPA and your admin keeps the keys.

02

Land in your warehouse

Data flows into your warehouse on your schedule. Near real time or nightly, your call. You own the data.

03

Reporting, automation, AI

We build the first dashboard, workflow or AI feature with you, then hand over the keys. Or we stay on for ongoing delivery.

Two ways to work with us

Pick the track that fits how you work.

Track 01

Self-serve

We set up the foundation. Your team builds on top.

  • Tipalti connector configured and running
  • Warehouse set up in your cloud account
  • Clean access for your Power BI, Fabric or Tableau team
  • Documentation on what's in the data model
  • Sync monitoring so you're warned before reports break

Best fit Teams that already have a BI analyst or data engineer and want to own the build.

Track 02

Done for you

We build the whole thing, end to end.

  • Everything in Self-serve
  • Dashboards built to the questions your team actually asks
  • Automations between your systems
  • AI workflows scoped to real tasks your team runs
  • Custom apps where a dashboard does not cut it
  • Ongoing delivery at a pace that fits your team

Best fit Teams without in-house BI or dev capacity. You tell us what you need and we deliver it.

Before you book

Frequently asked questions.

Who owns the data?

You do. It lands in your warehouse, on your cloud account. We don't resell or aggregate it. If you stop working with us, the warehouse stays yours and keeps running.

How fresh is the data?

Near real time for most operational systems. For heavier sources we schedule hourly or nightly. You pick based on what the reports need.

Do I need a warehouse already?

No. If you don't have one, we help you pick one and set it up as part of the first delivery. Common starting points are Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a small Postgres start.

How is Tipalti different from BILL or Ramp?

BILL is the AP and spend layer for US small and mid-market businesses paying mostly US vendors. Ramp and Brex are corporate-card and spend platforms anchored on the card. Tipalti is built for global mass payouts: one approval flow that pays vendors, freelancers, affiliates or creators across many countries, currencies and methods, with W-8 and W-9 collection and 1099 and 1042 reporting attached. The connector pulls the data that makes per-country cost, FX margin and tax-form coverage visible next to the rest of finance.

Are payee tax forms and 1099 / 1042 data covered?

Yes. The connector pulls the payee fiche together with the tax-form status, expiry dates and the year-to-date paid amount that drives 1099 and 1042 reporting. Missing-form payees, expiring W-8s and reportable totals show up in the warehouse, so the AP team can work the gap before tax season instead of chasing paperwork in January.
