Zoho People connector

Use your Zoho People data for reporting, automation and AI.

Data Panda pulls your Zoho People employee forms, leave requests, attendance entries, performance cycles and training records into the same warehouse as your finance, sales and operations data. From one place we turn it into dashboards, automations, AI workflows and custom apps that HR, finance and team leads use during the month, not only on the morning of a board meeting.

About Zoho People

The HRIS that ships with the rest of the Zoho One bundle.

Zoho People is Zoho's HR module, used by companies that already run Zoho CRM, Zoho Books or the broader Zoho One suite and want a people record on the same login and the same admin layer. The product covers the full HRIS scope an SMB or mid-market company expects from one tool: the employee form with custom fields, departments and designations, leave types and balances, attendance and shifts, timesheets, the HR help desk, document management with e-signature, performance and KRAs, goals, the learning management system, and offboarding clearance. Zia, the Zoho assistant, sits across the suite and surfaces the same record by chat where the team already lives.

The buyer profile leans towards companies between fifty and a few thousand employees in regions where Zoho is strong (India, Middle East, parts of EMEA, growing in North America). The pull is integration with the rest of the Zoho stack: Zoho Payroll for the payroll run, Zoho Recruit for the ATS, Zoho Sign for documents, Zoho Expense for travel, Zoho CRM for the seller roster. In a warehouse next to Zoho CRM, Zoho Books and the rest of your business data, the People record finally answers the questions a Zoho People report alone does not: time-to-fully-onboarded per office, absence concentration per team and quarter, comp band drift across legal entities, or whether engagement scores from Zoho People surveys predict the leavers showing up two quarters later.

What your Zoho People data is for

What you get once Zoho People is connected.

HR and workforce reporting

Headcount, leave, attendance, performance and training on one page across every office and entity.

  • Headcount and FTE per office, department and entity, against the approved plan
  • Leave and absence concentration per team, leave type and quarter
  • Performance and KRA cycle progress per manager, BU and country

Process automation

Turn Zoho People joiner, mover and leaver events into the downstream work the rest of the stack expects, without a per-tool handoff.

  • Provision identity and SaaS access the day a joiner record posts in Zoho People
  • Sync the staffed seller roster from Zoho People into Zoho CRM territories and quotas
  • Free SaaS seats and revoke access the moment an offboarding case closes

AI workflows

Put the people record, leave history, KRA scores and training trail behind AI that reads the full workforce picture.

  • Attrition-risk scoring on KRA scores, comp-ratio, leave pattern and tenure together
  • Training gap analysis per role family, with the courses people finished named
  • Natural-language Q&A across the people record, leave policies and offboarding tasks

Custom apps on your data

Lightweight tools on Zoho People data for managers and BU heads who should not need a Zoho People licence to read their own team.

  • Manager workbench with team headcount, open leave, KRA progress and training status
  • Group-finance cockpit with payroll cost per entity and headcount-versus-plan
  • Onboarding tracker with the steps that consistently slip in each office

Real business questions

Answers you will finally get.

How long does a joiner really take to be fully onboarded across our offices?

Days between the start date in Zoho People and the moment every onboarding task, document and access step has closed, per office, role and cohort. People ops sees the office where the median onboarding runs eight days longer than headquarters does, and the task that consistently holds the cycle, instead of trusting that the onboarding board cleared on time.

Did our KRA cycle run on time, or did managers sign off on the last day?

KRA cycle status per manager, BU and country, with the timestamp of every review submission and approval. The HR lead sees which managers ran reviews evenly across the cycle and which closed every review on the final day, before the engagement survey reflects the rushed feedback two months later.

Where is leave concentrating, and is the shift plan absorbing it?

Approved leave per team, leave type and week against the shift roster and the open headcount on those weeks. Operations sees the office and team where two of three engineers are off in the same fortnight, before the project plan reflects the slip and a customer escalation surfaces it.

Value for everyone in the organisation

Where each function gets value.

For finance leaders

Zoho People payroll cost per entity and country, lined up with the GL and the headcount plan. Group close stops waiting on a payroll export per country, and the personnel-cost line on the management report ties back to the Zoho People record it came from.

For sales leaders

Quota coverage against the staffed seller roster from Zoho People, with start dates and ramp windows. Sales leadership sees when a region falls below coverage because two AE roles slipped past their target start, before the forecast call surfaces it.

For operations

Joiner onboarding state, leave and attendance across offices in one capacity picture. The COO sees which office is letting joiners drift past day-thirty without finishing onboarding and which sites carry the absence concentration this quarter.

Ideas

What you can automate with Zoho People.

Pair with Slack

Drive joiner and leaver Slack moments from the Zoho People timeline

Joiner records in Zoho People post a welcome message on day one in the team channel and ping the manager when an onboarding task has been waiting longer than the agreed window, per office. Leaver records do the reverse: a manager ping when an offboarding clearance step has not closed within the policy window, and an HR-channel summary on the cases that drifted past policy. People ops stops running a weekly handoff queue across HR and IT by hand.

Pair with HubSpot

Match HubSpot seat cost to Zoho People-staffed reps and pipeline per rep

Active sellers, ramp dates and territory assignments in Zoho People keep the HubSpot quota-coverage view in sync with the staffed sales team per region. Revenue leaders see when a region drops below coverage because two AE roles slipped past their target start, weeks before the forecast call catches it. Joined to closed-won pipeline per owner, the HubSpot seat cost stops being a flat licence line and becomes a number per rep that carries against the revenue they closed.

Pair with monday.com

Reconcile Zoho People timesheets with monday.com project boards

Logged hours per worker and project in Zoho People timesheets land next to monday.com tasks, owners and due dates in the warehouse. Delivery leads see the project where the timesheet hours show eighty hours booked but the monday board shows three open tasks, and the project where leave in Zoho People has pulled two of three owners out for the next sprint. The plan stops being read from one tool while the actuals live in another.

Pair with Exact Online

Tie Zoho People payroll cost to Exact Online cost centres per entity

Personnel cost from Zoho People (or the Zoho Payroll output that hangs from it) lands per worker, cost centre and legal entity next to the Exact Online ledger in the warehouse. Group finance sees the cost centre where the personnel line on the management report differs from the Exact booking by more than the threshold, before close. Headcount-versus-plan and personnel-cost-versus-budget read off the same join, instead of being two exports stitched together at month-end.

Pair with Calendly

Block Calendly slots when Zoho People marks the booker on leave

Approved leave in Zoho People closes the matching Calendly availability windows for that worker, per office and time zone, so prospects and customers do not book a meeting with someone marked off in the HRIS. The reverse holds for joiners: a Calendly booking link gets activated only once the joiner record is live and onboarded past the access step. Sales and customer success stop running a parallel out-of-office calendar in chat.

Pair with Zoho Books

Tie Zoho People headcount to Zoho Books personnel cost per entity

Active workers, departments and entities in Zoho People land in the warehouse next to the personnel cost lines posted in Zoho Books, on the same employee and entity keys. Group finance sees the entity where Zoho Books has booked salary for a worker who left in Zoho People last quarter, and the cost centre where the headcount on the People record does not match the personnel cost in the Books ledger. The two Zoho records read together where they previously each told half the story.

Three steps

From Zoho People to answers in three steps.

01

Connect securely

OAuth authentication. Read-only by default. We sign a DPA and your admin keeps the keys.

02

Land in your warehouse

Data flows into your warehouse on your schedule. Near real time or nightly, your call. You own the data.

03

Reporting, automation, AI

We build the first dashboard, workflow or AI feature with you, then hand over the keys. Or we stay on for ongoing delivery.

Two ways to work with us

Pick the track that fits how you work.

Track 01

Self-serve

We set up the foundation. Your team builds on top.

  • Zoho People connector configured and running
  • Warehouse set up in your cloud account
  • Clean access for your Power BI, Fabric or Tableau team
  • Documentation on what's in the data model
  • Sync monitoring so you're warned before reports break

Best fit Teams that already have a BI analyst or data engineer and want to own the build.

Track 02

Done for you

We build the whole thing, end to end.

  • Everything in Self-serve
  • Dashboards built to the questions your team actually asks
  • Automations between your systems
  • AI workflows scoped to real tasks your team runs
  • Custom apps where a dashboard does not cut it
  • Ongoing delivery at a pace that fits your team

Best fit Teams without in-house BI or dev capacity. You tell us what you need and we deliver it.

Before you book

Frequently asked questions.

Who owns the data?

You do. It lands in your warehouse, on your cloud account. We don't resell or aggregate it. If you stop working with us, the warehouse stays yours and keeps running.

How fresh is the data?

Near real time for most operational systems. For heavier sources we schedule hourly or nightly. You pick based on what the reports need.

Do I need a warehouse already?

No. If you don't have one, we help you pick one and set it up as part of the first delivery. Common starting points are Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a small Postgres start.

Which Zoho People tables land in the warehouse?

The connector pulls the Employee form with custom fields, Departments and Designations, Leave Types, Leave Requests and balances, Attendance entries and Shifts, Timesheet entries, Performance and KRA cycles, Goals, Training courses and enrolments, Documents metadata and HR helpdesk Cases. Where your tenant has Zoho Payroll, Zoho Recruit or Zoho Sign enabled on the same Zoho One account, those records can be joined to the People record on the same employee key. Authentication runs through a Zoho OAuth token scoped to the People organisation.

What about custom forms and custom fields in Zoho People?

Zoho People is heavily form-driven, and most tenants extend the standard forms with custom fields and add new forms entirely (for example a hardware register or a probation form). The connector picks these up alongside the standard forms, so the custom fields you use for hiring location, contract type or notice period land in the warehouse next to the standard employee record. Forms that hold sensitive data can be routed into a restricted schema.

How does this work alongside the rest of the Zoho One stack?

If you also run Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, Zoho Payroll or Zoho Recruit, those connectors land in the same warehouse on a shared organisation and employee key. The People record reads against the seller roster in Zoho CRM, the personnel cost in Zoho Books, the payroll run in Zoho Payroll and the open requisitions in Zoho Recruit, instead of each Zoho product reporting in isolation.
