About Billtrust iController

The AR layer built in Ghent.

iController was founded in Ghent as a B2B AR-automation platform focused on credit management, collections workflows, dispute management and cash application. It was acquired by Billtrust in 2021 and now runs as part of Billtrust's wider order-to-cash suite, while retaining its Belgian engineering base and European mid-market customer base.

The point of pulling iController into a warehouse is that AR teams live between the ERP, the accounting system and the CRM, and the real workday is built on lists: which customers to chase this week, which disputes to unblock, which credit limits to rebalance. Next to Exact Online, Salesforce and the bank feed, iController signal becomes the input to a priority queue instead of a weekly export that everyone interprets differently.

What your Billtrust iController data is for

What you get once Billtrust iController is connected.

Collections-priority reporting

Overdue balances, credit risk and dispute state on one screen.

  • Collection priority queue by overdue euros and risk delta
  • Dispute aging and resolution time per team
  • DSO and promise-to-pay adherence per customer

Collections automation

Let the stack act the moment iController says it should.

  • Risk spike triggers a credit-hold in the ERP
  • Dispute opened pages the account owner in CRM
  • Promise-to-pay reminder goes out if the date slips

AI workflows

Use iController history to score risk and route work.

  • Promise-to-pay reliability score per customer
  • Dispute-cause clustering for process fixes
  • Credit-limit suggestion on rolling payment behaviour

Custom apps on your data

Internal tools on iController data for AR and credit teams.

  • Collector workbench with today's priority calls
  • Credit-committee board with risk-movement list
  • Finance-leadership dashboard with DSO and aging trends

Real business questions

Answers you will finally get.

Which customers should the collections team call first this week?

A ranked list of overdue customers joined to risk-score change, dispute count and contract value. Separates the customer whose overdue is large but the relationship is healthy from the customer whose risk just stepped up.

Which disputes are silently aging past SLA?

Open disputes older than their SLA window, grouped by reason and team. Exposes the disputes that have been sitting unresolved long enough to cost the relationship, not just the cash.

Is the credit policy holding against actual payment behaviour?

Credit-limit exposure against rolling payment behaviour, per customer segment. Identifies the segment where credit limits are no longer in line with the way the customer is paying, before the next credit committee.

Value for everyone in the organisation

Where each function gets value.

For finance leaders

DSO, cash-application match rate and credit exposure on one screen, with the collections priority queue already built. Month-end AR review becomes a check, not a build.

For sales leaders

Live payment status and dispute state on the CRM account before a renewal or expansion conversation. No more discovering a customer was on credit hold during the upsell call.

For operations

Dispute-cause clusters, collector throughput and auto-match rate per payment rail. AR ops tunes the rail, the reminder cadence and the collector workload on measured data.

Ideas

What you can automate with Billtrust iController.

Pair with Exact Online

Close the loop between iController and Exact Online

iController collection actions, disputes and payment promises post back to Exact Online on the matching invoice and customer. Belgian finance teams stop running two AR systems about the same customer.

Pair with Salesforce

Surface iController risk on Salesforce accounts

DSO, credit-risk movement and open-dispute count land as fields on the matching Salesforce account. Reps see which accounts are in collections before they send a discount proposal, and revenue ops can filter pipeline by credit status.

Pair with HubSpot

Put iController status on HubSpot contacts

Payment status, dispute count and collection stage flow onto HubSpot contacts and deals. Sales and account management see credit context next to pipeline, marketing stops emailing accounts that are in active collections.

Pair with Ponto

Reconcile Ponto bank data with iController actions

Ponto incoming transactions match to iController invoices and clear the collection task automatically. Promises-to-pay are verified against the bank the moment they settle, instead of the next accounting run.

Three steps

From Billtrust iController to answers in three steps.

01

Connect securely

OAuth authentication. Read-only by default. We sign a DPA and your admin keeps the keys.

02

Land in your warehouse

Data flows into your warehouse on your schedule. Near real time or nightly, your call. You own the data.

03

Reporting, automation, AI

We build the first dashboard, workflow or AI feature with you, then hand over the keys. Or we stay on for ongoing delivery.

Two ways to work with us

Pick the track that fits how you work.

Track 01

Self-serve

We set up the foundation. Your team builds on top.

  • Billtrust iController connector configured and running
  • Warehouse set up in your cloud account
  • Clean access for your Power BI, Fabric or Tableau team
  • Documentation on what's in the data model
  • Sync monitoring so you're warned before reports break

Best fit Teams that already have a BI analyst or data engineer and want to own the build.

Track 02

Done for you

We build the whole thing, end to end.

  • Everything in Self-serve
  • Dashboards built to the questions your team actually asks
  • Automations between your systems
  • AI workflows scoped to real tasks your team runs
  • Custom apps where a dashboard does not cut it
  • Ongoing delivery at a pace that fits your team

Best fit Teams without in-house BI or dev capacity. You tell us what you need and we deliver it.

Before you book

Frequently asked questions.

Who owns the data?

You do. It lands in your warehouse, on your cloud account. We don't resell or aggregate it. If you stop working with us, the warehouse stays yours and keeps running.

How fresh is the data?

Near real time for most operational systems. For heavier sources we schedule hourly or nightly. You pick based on what the reports need.

Do I need a warehouse already?

No. If you don't have one, we help you pick one and set it up as part of the first delivery. Common starting points are Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a small Postgres start.

Which iController deployments does the connector support?

iController's cloud deployments are the primary path, with both the legacy European tenant model and the newer Billtrust-integrated setup covered. Custom workflows, collection groups and dispute types come across as first-class dimensions in the warehouse.

Does the sync need a specific ERP behind iController?

No. iController already normalises data across ERPs (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Exact Online, NetSuite). The connector picks up whichever ERP backs the iController tenant and keeps the ERP-level references so cross-system reporting stays honest.
