Humi was founded in 2016 in Toronto by Andrea Bartlett, Kevin Kliman and Simon Bourgeois, and grew into one of the most-used HR, payroll and benefits platforms for Canadian small and mid-sized businesses. The product covers the full employee lifecycle on a single Canadian-hosted platform: the employee record, hiring and onboarding, time-off, performance reviews, payroll with CRA filings (T4, ROE, source deductions, EHT), and group benefits administration. In January 2025 Humi was acquired by Australian-headquartered Employment Hero and now runs as Humi by Employment Hero, with the Canadian product, support team and Quebec-French support kept in place.
