IRIS HR connector

Use your IRIS HR data for reporting, automation and AI.

Data Panda pulls your IRIS HR records into the same warehouse as your finance, sales and operations data. From one place we turn it into dashboards, workflows and small apps that HR, finance and team leads use during the month, not only the morning of a board meeting.

About IRIS HR

A UK HR platform from the IRIS payroll group, reported on like an enterprise.

IRIS HR is the cloud HR product (also marketed as Staffology HR) inside IRIS Software Group, the UK accountancy, payroll and HR house founded in 1978 and headquartered in Slough. The group reports more than 100,000 customers across 135 countries and processes payroll for roughly one in eight UK employees through its various payroll lines. It is jointly owned by Hg, Intermediate Capital Group and Leonard Green & Partners following a 2024 recapitalisation, and Hg has held a stake in IRIS for most of the past two decades.

The HR platform itself is aimed at growing UK businesses and covers the standard HRIS surface: the core employee record and contracts, absence and leave (holiday, sickness, compassionate, overtime), time and attendance, performance reviews and objectives, expenses, compensation and benefits, training and L&D, and a self-service portal for employees and managers. It sits next to Staffology Payroll, IRIS Cascade HR and the IRIS accountancy stack, so for a lot of UK SMBs it is the HR seat in a wider IRIS estate. The open API exposes the same employee, employment, absence and reporting objects the in-app screens use, with webhooks for change events, which is what we connect to when we land your IRIS HR data in the warehouse.

Ideas

What you can automate with IRIS HR.

Pair with Slack

Automate the team-announce moments

New starters, work anniversaries and approved absence in IRIS HR drive the right Slack messages into the right channels: a welcome post on day one, an out-of-office note for the team channel, and a manager ping when an open role is past its target start date. HR stops running a weekly announcement queue by hand.

Pair with HubSpot

Align sales-rep ramp and quota coverage

New hires and leavers in IRIS HR keep the HubSpot quota-coverage view in sync with the actual staffed sales team, including ramp dates per rep. Revenue leaders see when a territory slips below target coverage because a hire is delayed or a leaver has not been replaced, weeks before the pipeline report catches it.

Pair with monday.com

Net project capacity against approved absence

Approved absence per assignee in IRIS HR nets out the working days available in monday.com boards and timelines, so project leads plan against real capacity instead of a flat forty-hour assumption. Milestones that collide with a holiday-heavy week surface while there is still room to rephase, rather than in a post-mortem on why the sprint slipped.

Pair with Exact Online

Reconcile headcount cost against the ledger

Active employees, contract changes and approved leave from IRIS HR feed the personnel-cost line in Exact Online, so finance reconciles staffed FTE against booked salary cost without rebuilding the bridge each month-end. Departments that drift above plan show up in the management report rather than after the year-end close.

Pair with HiBob

Bridge an IRIS HR to HiBob migration without losing history

When a UK entity moves from IRIS HR onto HiBob (or runs both side by side during a group rollout), Data Panda lands both feeds in the warehouse on a shared employee key, so headcount, absence and tenure trends keep one continuous history across the move. Reports stop resetting on the cut-over date.

Pair with Calendly

Block recruiter calendars on the actual absence picture

Approved absence and bank holidays from IRIS HR flow into Calendly as blocked availability for hiring managers and interviewers, so candidate slots only land on days the panel is in. Reschedules caused by a manager being out vanish, and time-to-offer drops a few days per role.

Your existing tools

Your data lands in a warehouse. Your BI tools read from it.

You keep the reporting tool you already have. We connect it to the warehouse where your IRIS HR data lives.

Three steps

From IRIS HR to answers in three steps.

01

Connect securely

OAuth authentication. Read-only by default. We sign a DPA and your admin keeps the keys.

02

Land in your warehouse

Data flows into your warehouse on your schedule. Near real time or nightly, your call. You own the data.

03

Reporting, automation, AI

We build the first dashboard, workflow or AI feature with you, then hand over the keys. Or we stay on for ongoing delivery.

Two ways to work with us

Pick the track that fits how you work.

Track 01

Self-serve

We set up the foundation. Your team builds on top.

  • IRIS HR connector configured and running
  • Warehouse set up in your cloud account
  • Clean access for your Power BI, Fabric or Tableau team
  • Documentation on what's in the data model
  • Sync monitoring so you're warned before reports break

Best fit Teams that already have a BI analyst or data engineer and want to own the build.

Track 02

Done for you

We build the whole thing, end to end.

  • Everything in Self-serve
  • Dashboards built to the questions your team actually asks
  • Automations between your systems
  • AI workflows scoped to real tasks your team runs
  • Custom apps where a dashboard does not cut it
  • Ongoing delivery at a pace that fits your team

Best fit Teams without in-house BI or dev capacity. You tell us what you need and we deliver it.

Before you book

Frequently asked questions.

Who owns the data?

You do. It lands in your warehouse, on your cloud account. We don't resell or aggregate it. If you stop working with us, the warehouse stays yours and keeps running.

How fresh is the data?

Near real time for most operational systems. For heavier sources we schedule hourly or nightly. You pick based on what the reports need.

Do I need a warehouse already?

No. If you don't have one, we help you pick one and set it up as part of the first delivery. Common starting points are Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a small Postgres start.
