SimplePay connector

Use your SimplePay data for reporting, automation and AI.

Data Panda pulls SimplePay employees, payslips, leave balances, deductions and statutory submissions into the same warehouse as your accounting, sales and operational data. From one place we turn it into dashboards, automations and AI workflows that finance, HR and the partners of an accounting practice can read without logging into a payroll seat.

About SimplePay

Cloud payroll for South Africa, Singapore, Ireland and Hong Kong.

SimplePay is a cloud payroll product headquartered in South Africa, with separate products tuned for Singapore, Ireland and Hong Kong. The South African edition handles PAYE, UIF, SDL, Employment Tax Incentive, EMP201 monthly returns and the bi-annual EMP501 reconciliation that produces IRP5 and IT3a tax certificates for SARS eFiling. The Singapore edition tracks IRAS and MOM compliance. The Irish edition covers PAYE, USC and PRSI. The Hong Kong edition handles MPF and IR56B. The shared core is the same: a payroll engine, an employee self-service portal on web and mobile, a leave-management workflow, and an accountant view that lets a practice run multiple client companies from one login.

For a Belgian or Dutch business the SimplePay connector is rarely the centre of payroll, because Belgian and Dutch payroll runs on SD Worx, Securex, Acerta, Loket or Nmbrs. The connector earns its place when there is a South African, Singapore, Irish or Hong Kong subsidiary on SimplePay, or when a Belgian accounting group serves clients in those markets through a SimplePay practice account. In that setup the warehouse is what makes payroll cost, headcount and statutory exposure comparable across the group, instead of being readable only inside one country's payroll tool.

What your SimplePay data is for

What you get once SimplePay is connected.

Headcount and payroll-cost reporting

Cost per employee, per cost centre and per country on one page, instead of per SimplePay company export.

  • Total payroll cost per period, per legal entity and per country, with employer contributions named
  • Leave liability per company, with the days carried forward visible at the rate that applies
  • Statutory submission status (EMP201, EMP501, IRAS, Revenue, IRD) with the latest filing per company

Process automation

Let payroll close trigger the work the rest of the group expects, without anyone re-typing the totals.

  • Push monthly payroll journals into Xero or QuickBooks Online with the right account mapping per company
  • Open a finance task the day after run-finalisation if the cost-centre split breaks against the previous month by more than the threshold
  • Sync new joiners and leavers in SimplePay to the HRIS and to access provisioning

AI workflows

Put payroll history behind AI that reads the full headcount-and-cost picture, not the one country in front of it.

  • Anomaly detection on payslip lines period over period per company, with the changed components named
  • Leave-balance forecast per team and quarter, with the cost of the carry-forward at year-end estimated
  • Cross-country headcount-cost benchmark per role, normalised to the same currency

Custom apps on your data

Lightweight tools on SimplePay data for finance and HR, plus the partners of accounting practices.

  • Group payroll dashboard across South Africa, Singapore, Ireland and Hong Kong, in one currency
  • Practice cockpit for accountants with the SimplePay submission status per client company
  • Manager view with the team's leave balance and upcoming absences for the next quarter

Real business questions

Answers you will finally get.

What does the group spend on payroll per country, in the same currency?

Gross, net and employer contributions per legal entity, with each country converted to the group reporting currency at the rate of the period. The CFO sees the group total without waiting for four country exports to be merged in a spreadsheet.

Which SimplePay company in the practice has a filing that has not gone out yet?

EMP201, EMP501, IRAS or Revenue submission status per client company in a practice account, with the deadline next to it. The partner sees the late ones first instead of clicking through company by company.

How much leave liability is sitting on the books at year-end?

Days outstanding per employee, costed at the salary that would be paid out, totalled per company and per cost centre. Finance can provision the right number instead of the round number that has carried forward for years.

Value for everyone in the organisation

Where each function gets value.

For finance leaders

Headcount cost, employer contributions, leave liability and statutory exposure consolidated across every country the group runs SimplePay in. Month-end and year-end provisions move from a spreadsheet hand-off to a warehouse view that already adds up.

For sales leaders

For accounting practices serving South African, Singapore, Irish or Hong Kong clients on SimplePay, a partner-level view of submission compliance and renewal risk per client company. Renewal conversations open with the reality of the year, not with whatever the partner remembered.

For operations

Joiners, leavers, leave balances and cost-centre splits per company on one board. Resourcing and cost decisions land on the same numbers HR and finance see, instead of three exports out of three SimplePay companies.

Ideas

What you can automate with SimplePay.

Pair with Xero

Connect SimplePay payroll journals with Xero

Each finalised SimplePay run posts to the corresponding Xero organisation with the account mapping, cost-centre split and tax-line breakdown the group expects. The South African and Singapore subsidiaries close their books on the SimplePay numbers without a finance team member retyping totals into Xero.

Pair with QuickBooks Online

Connect SimplePay payroll journals with QuickBooks Online

QuickBooks Online receives the same payroll journal as the local accounting team expects, per legal entity and per period, with employer contributions and statutory deductions on the right ledger lines. Month-end runs as one process across SimplePay and QuickBooks instead of two.

Pair with Workday

Sync SimplePay payroll outcomes back into Workday

Groups running Workday for HR globally and SimplePay for payroll in their South African, Singapore, Irish or Hong Kong entities keep the worker record consistent. Cost per worker, leave taken and statutory category land back in Workday next to the position record, so global HR reads one number per worker.

Pair with HubSpot

Connect SimplePay practice clients with HubSpot

Accounting practices serving SimplePay clients keep the HubSpot company record aligned with the SimplePay client portfolio. Renewal stage, submission status and pay-run cadence per client live next to the deal in HubSpot, so account managers stop opening SimplePay to know which conversation to lead.

Pair with Slack

Connect SimplePay run events with Slack

Pay-run finalisation, statutory submission status and anomaly alerts post to a finance or practice channel in Slack with the company, period and the line that moved. The team reacts on the channel instead of refreshing SimplePay tabs per company.

Pair with monday.com

Connect SimplePay statutory deadlines with monday.com

The EMP201, EMP501, IRAS, Revenue and IRD deadlines per client company become a board in monday.com, with status pulled from SimplePay. The practice tracks late submissions on the same board it tracks the rest of the engagement, instead of per-company login round trips.

Data model

Tables we make available.

These are the 5 tables we currently pull from SimplePay into your warehouse. Query them directly in SQL, join them to the rest of your stack, or build reports on top.

Three steps

From SimplePay to answers in three steps.

01

Connect securely

OAuth authentication. Read-only by default. We sign a DPA and your admin keeps the keys.

02

Land in your warehouse

Data flows into your warehouse on your schedule. Near real time or nightly, your call. You own the data.

03

Reporting, automation, AI

We build the first dashboard, workflow or AI feature with you, then hand over the keys. Or we stay on for ongoing delivery.

Two ways to work with us

Pick the track that fits how you work.

Track 01

Self-serve

We set up the foundation. Your team builds on top.

  • SimplePay connector configured and running
  • Warehouse set up in your cloud account
  • Clean access for your Power BI, Fabric or Tableau team
  • Documentation on what's in the data model
  • Sync monitoring so you're warned before reports break

Best fit Teams that already have a BI analyst or data engineer and want to own the build.

Track 02

Done for you

We build the whole thing, end to end.

  • Everything in Self-serve
  • Dashboards built to the questions your team actually asks
  • Automations between your systems
  • AI workflows scoped to real tasks your team runs
  • Custom apps where a dashboard does not cut it
  • Ongoing delivery at a pace that fits your team

Best fit Teams without in-house BI or dev capacity. You tell us what you need and we deliver it.

Before you book

Frequently asked questions.

Who owns the data?

You do. It lands in your warehouse, on your cloud account. We don't resell or aggregate it. If you stop working with us, the warehouse stays yours and keeps running.

How fresh is the data?

Near real time for most operational systems. For heavier sources we schedule hourly or nightly. You pick based on what the reports need.

Do I need a warehouse already?

No. If you don't have one, we help you pick one and set it up as part of the first delivery. Common starting points are Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a small Postgres start.
