One platform for publishing, inbox and reporting on your social channels.

Sprout Social is a social media management platform. Teams plan and schedule posts for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and TikTok from a shared calendar, with Threads, Pinterest and YouTube also supported. Comments, mentions and direct messages from those networks arrive in one Smart Inbox, where they get tagged, assigned as cases and answered. Reviews from Google, Facebook, Yelp, Tripadvisor and the app stores land in the same inbox. Reporting covers profile performance, post performance, tagged messages, competitor benchmarks and team response times. Social listening is a separate add-on.

Sprout Social has an API that makes this data reachable outside the platform, with OAuth 2.0 or API tokens. It returns the connected profiles, daily profile metrics, sent posts with their lifetime metrics, inbox messages with their tags and the team member who replied, cases, and the listening topics if you use that add-on. That is what makes post performance, inbox volume and response times usable in a warehouse, for example next to ad spend, CRM deals and support tickets.

What you get once Sprout Social is connected.

Reporting across all networks

Post performance, follower growth and inbox volume per network, over more than the report window.

  • Impressions and reactions per sent post, per network and per profile
  • Daily profile metrics per network against campaign weeks
  • Inbound messages per tag, per network and per hour of the day

Workflow automation

Let the CRM, the helpdesk and the ads team work from the same Sprout Social messages and posts.

  • Inbox messages tagged as lead create or update the contact in the CRM
  • Messages tagged as support question become a helpdesk ticket with the conversation link
  • Top organic posts of the week flagged as candidates for paid promotion

AI workflows

Use months of posts and inbox messages to prepare the next post and the next reply.

  • Cluster inbound messages by topic and product from the message text
  • Score new posts on expected reactions from your own post history
  • Draft reply suggestions from past replies on the same tag

Custom apps on your data

Small tools on Sprout Social data for people who do not need a Sprout Social seat.

  • Weekly social scorecard for management, per brand and per network
  • Response-time board per team member for the social care lead
  • Review monitor per location with rating trend for the store manager

Answers you will finally get.

Which posts brought in customers, and not only reactions?

Sent posts with their lifetime impressions and reactions from Sprout Social, joined to website sessions and to CRM contacts created in the days after. Ranks the posts that produced customers next to the posts that only scored well in the Post Performance report.

How fast do we answer customers on social, and who does the answering?

Inbox messages and cases with the team member who replied and the time between the inbound message and the reply, per network and per hour of the day. Shows the evening gap on Instagram direct messages and the weekday where LinkedIn comments wait a full day.

Are we paying for reach we already get organically?

Organic impressions per network from Sprout Social next to Facebook Ads and LinkedIn Ads spend in the same week. Flags the weeks where paid impressions went up while the organic posts were already carrying the campaign.

Where each function gets value.

For finance leaders

Post performance, ad spend and customers won on one line per campaign, instead of a screenshot of the Sprout Social report. The social budget gets defended with the same numbers finance closes the quarter on.

For sales leaders

Direct messages and comments tagged as lead reach the CRM with the post that started them. The rep sees the social trail behind a contact before the first call.

For operations

Inbox volume, response times and open cases per team member and per hour of the day. The social care lead plans the shifts on data instead of on the feeling that Monday morning is busy.

What you can automate with Sprout Social.

Pair with HubSpot

Push Sprout Social leads into HubSpot with their social trail

Direct messages and comments that get the lead tag in the Smart Inbox create or update a HubSpot contact, with the network, the post and the link to the conversation on the record. Marketing scores leads on social engagement and sales sees which post started the conversation before they pick up the phone.

Pair with Facebook Ads

Put organic Facebook and Instagram posts next to Meta ad spend

The Sprout Social API leaves paid advertising data out, so post performance from Sprout Social and spend and results from Facebook Ads land in the same warehouse and get joined per week and per campaign. The organic posts that earned reach on their own become candidates for a boost, and the weeks where paid and organic chased the same audience come to light.

Pair with LinkedIn Ads

Compare LinkedIn page posts with Sponsored Content

Organic LinkedIn page posts from Sprout Social and Sponsored Content spend from LinkedIn Ads sit side by side per week and per campaign. B2B marketing sees which topics reach decision makers without a budget, and which ones only move when paid, before the next quarter's plan is made.

Pair with Zendesk

Turn social support questions into Zendesk tickets

Inbox messages tagged as support question in Sprout Social become Zendesk tickets with the network and the conversation link, and the Zendesk ticket status flows back to the case. Support sees the customer who asked on Instagram and then mailed once instead of twice, and the response time on social counts in the same SLA report as email and chat.

Pair with Google Analytics GA4

Match Sprout Social posts to sessions and conversions in GA4

Sent posts with their publish time and network from Sprout Social are joined to GA4 sessions by source and medium and to the conversions in the days after. Marketing sees which posts sent visitors who bought or signed up, and which posts produced reactions on the network and nothing on the website.

01

Connect securely

OAuth authentication. Read-only by default. We sign a DPA and your admin keeps the keys. Read our DPA

02

Land in your warehouse

Data flows into your warehouse on your schedule. Near real time or nightly, your call. You own the data.

03

Reporting, automation, AI

We build the first dashboard, workflow or AI feature with you, then hand over the keys. Or we stay on for ongoing delivery.

Pick the track that fits how you work.

Track 01

Self-serve

We set up the foundation. Your team builds on top.

  • Sprout Social connector configured and running
  • Warehouse set up in your cloud account
  • Clean access for your Power BI, Fabric or Tableau team
  • Documentation on what's in the data model
  • Sync monitoring so you're warned before reports break

Best fit Teams that already have a BI analyst or data engineer and want to own the build.

Track 02

Done for you

We build the whole thing, end to end.

  • Everything in Self-serve
  • Dashboards built to the questions your team actually asks
  • Automations between your systems

Best fit Teams without in-house BI or dev capacity. You tell us what you need and we deliver it.

Frequently asked questions.

Who owns the data?

You do. It lands in your warehouse, on your cloud account. We don't resell or aggregate it. If you stop working with us, the warehouse stays yours and keeps running.

How fresh is the data?

Near real time for most operational systems. For heavier sources we schedule hourly or nightly. You pick based on what the reports need.

Do I need a warehouse already?

No. If you don't have one, we help you pick one and set it up as part of the first delivery. Common starting points are Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a small Postgres start.

Does the Sprout Social connector include our paid ads data?

No. Sprout Social states that its API excludes paid advertising data, so what you get is the organic side: profiles, sent posts and their metrics, inbox messages, tags and cases. For paid we connect the ad platforms themselves, such as Facebook Ads and LinkedIn Ads, and join both in the warehouse.

Do we need the Listening add-on for this connector?

No. Sprout Social sells Listening as a separate add-on, and the listening topics with their messages and metrics only come through the API when you have it. Without the add-on, the connector still covers profiles, posts, post metrics, inbox messages, tags and cases. Sprout Social also notes that X listening data is not available through the API.

Does our Sprout Social subscription allow API access?

Sprout Social only enables its API on plans that include API access, so check with your Sprout Social admin first. The API is limited to 60 requests per minute and 250,000 per month; we sync incrementally to stay well within that, even with several profiles and a busy inbox.
