About SYSPRO

The mid-market ERP built around the work order.

SYSPRO was started in 1978 in Johannesburg by brothers Phil and Chris Duff, originally written in Cobol under the Impact brand. It has stayed privately held for most of its history; in August 2024 Advent International took a majority stake. The customer base is reported at around 15,000 manufacturers and distributors across roughly 62 countries, with strong concentration in discrete and process manufacturing such as automotive parts, food and beverage, industrial machinery, electronics, packaging, plastics, metal fabrication and chemical.

The product ships as on-prem SYSPRO 8 with the Avanti web UI on top, an HTML5 single-page application that runs the same business objects against an on-prem, hybrid or cloud deployment. The point of pulling SYSPRO into a warehouse is not that SYSPRO lacks reports. It is that a SYSPRO shop usually also runs Salesforce on the commercial side, a B2B webshop on Shopify or BigCommerce, Akeneo for product master data, and often Exact Online or another local ledger in a Belgian or Dutch entity. The questions that matter, BOM cost versus actual work-order cost, lot traceability across a recall, MRP plan versus what the line really built, sit between SYSPRO and those systems. In a warehouse SYSPRO becomes the spine and the rest of the stack lines up against it.

What your SYSPRO data is for

What you get once SYSPRO is connected.

Cross-system reporting

SYSPRO numbers next to the systems sitting around them, not five Reporting Services prints stitched together by hand.

  • Margin per stock code, customer and branch
  • Working capital with AR, AP and inventory aging
  • Work-order variance: BOM-rolled vs actual material and labour

External-system automation

Keep SYSPRO in sync with the systems it has to talk to, without another e.net point-to-point per pair.

  • Salesforce closed-won into SYSPRO sales orders
  • Shopify or BigCommerce B2B orders into SYSPRO with stock moves
  • Akeneo product master pushed into SYSPRO stock codes

AI workflows

Use SYSPRO history to forecast demand, score supplier reliability and catch quality issues before they ship.

  • Demand forecasting per stock code, branch and route
  • Supplier reliability on purchase receipts and lead time
  • Lot-quality scoring against work-order rejects and customer returns

Custom apps on your data

Small tools on top of SYSPRO data for people who do not need a SYSPRO licence to do their job.

  • Sales reps see stock and margin at quote time
  • Shop-floor leads get a work-order priority list outside Avanti
  • Exec dashboards on production throughput, scrap and on-time-in-full

Real business questions

Answers you will finally get.

Where is the gap between BOM-rolled cost and actual work-order cost?

Standard BOM cost rolled per stock code, next to actual material issued, labour booked and overhead absorbed on the work order, with the variance broken by component, work centre and route. The change in supplier price, the off-standard substitution or the labour overrun driving the gap shows up by name, not as a single variance number on the P&L.

Did MRP suggest something the shop floor could really build?

MRP-suggested orders against the work orders that were released, finished and shipped, with material availability and work-centre load layered on top. Planning sees where the suggestion was systematically off, instead of finding out at the end of the period that the schedule and the floor never matched.

If a customer reports a defect, where else did that lot go?

Forward and backward lot and serial trace from the supplier receipt through the work order, into finished stock, onto the sales order and out to every customer that received product from the same lot, in seconds. The recall scope is the actual list of customers, not a conservative blanket batch pulled because the trace stopped at a missing entry.

Value for everyone in the organisation

Where each function gets value.

For finance leaders

Multi-company consolidation across SYSPRO companies, working capital and dimension-style branch reporting without the month-end merge. Standard cost variance lands on the dashboard the day the work order closes, not in the close week.

For sales leaders

Quote-to-order-to-cash velocity per rep, branch and product line, tied back to Salesforce or HubSpot. Stock availability and credit limit are visible at quote time, so sales stops promising delivery dates the shop floor cannot keep.

For operations

BOM cost variance, MRP accuracy, supplier lead time and lot traceability in one picture. The shop-floor numbers join back to standard SYSPRO data, so production, planning and quality argue from the same dashboard.

Ideas

What you can automate with SYSPRO.

Pair with Salesforce

Turn Salesforce opportunities into SYSPRO sales orders

Closed-won Salesforce opportunities drop into SYSPRO as sales orders, with customer, stock code and pricing mapped to the right branch and warehouse. Order status, despatch and invoice flow back to the opportunity, so sales and finance see the same cycle from closed-won to cleared cash, instead of arguing across two reports.

Pair with Shopify

Flow Shopify B2B orders into SYSPRO with stock moves

Shopify B2B orders land in SYSPRO as sales orders with stock codes, pricing and tax handled, plus the matching stock movements in the right warehouse. Refunds post as credit notes. The B2B channel sits in the same P&L as direct sales and stock stays in one ledger, so the warehouse picks against one source of truth.

Pair with Exact Online

Sync SYSPRO with a Belgian or Dutch entity on Exact Online

For groups running SYSPRO in the manufacturing entity and Exact Online in a Belgian or Dutch sales or service company, we align chart of accounts, sync customer and supplier masters, and push journal totals between the two. One consolidated group P&L without re-keying invoices on either side.

Pair with Akeneo

Push Akeneo product master into SYSPRO stock codes

Akeneo as the source of truth for product attributes, copy and media. Approved enrichments push into SYSPRO as stock-code records with units of measure, product class and pricing structure already in place. New SKUs are sellable on day one and product copy stays consistent across ERP, web and B2B channels.

Three steps

From SYSPRO to answers in three steps.

01

Connect securely

OAuth authentication. Read-only by default. We sign a DPA and your admin keeps the keys.

02

Land in your warehouse

Data flows into your warehouse on your schedule. Near real time or nightly, your call. You own the data.

03

Reporting, automation, AI

We build the first dashboard, workflow or AI feature with you, then hand over the keys. Or we stay on for ongoing delivery.

Two ways to work with us

Pick the track that fits how you work.

Track 01

Self-serve

We set up the foundation. Your team builds on top.

  • SYSPRO connector configured and running
  • Warehouse set up in your cloud account
  • Clean access for your Power BI, Fabric or Tableau team
  • Documentation on what's in the data model
  • Sync monitoring so you're warned before reports break

Best fit Teams that already have a BI analyst or data engineer and want to own the build.

Track 02

Done for you

We build the whole thing, end to end.

  • Everything in Self-serve
  • Dashboards built to the questions your team actually asks
  • Automations between your systems
  • AI workflows scoped to real tasks your team runs
  • Custom apps where a dashboard does not cut it
  • Ongoing delivery at a pace that fits your team

Best fit Teams without in-house BI or dev capacity. You tell us what you need and we deliver it.

Before you book

Frequently asked questions.

Who owns the data?

You do. It lands in your warehouse, on your cloud account. We don't resell or aggregate it. If you stop working with us, the warehouse stays yours and keeps running.

How fresh is the data?

Near real time for most operational systems. For heavier sources we schedule hourly or nightly. You pick based on what the reports need.

Do I need a warehouse already?

No. If you don't have one, we help you pick one and set it up as part of the first delivery. Common starting points are Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a small Postgres start.

Does the sync handle on-prem SYSPRO 8 and Avanti web equally?

Yes. SYSPRO 8 with the Avanti web UI runs the same business objects whether the deployment is on-prem, hybrid or cloud. We connect via the SYSPRO e.net business object library where it is fastest, and read directly from the underlying SQL Server database for historical extracts and large reporting tables. The warehouse schema is the same either way.

What about our SYSPRO customisations, custom forms and cusprogs?

Custom form fields, custom panes and the data behind site-specific cusprogs come across as first-class columns and tables in the warehouse. The warehouse model captures what each field meant at the time it was used, so reports keep working when a customisation is renamed or refactored in a later SYSPRO 8 port.
