About Visionplanner

Where Dutch finance teams turn the books into a plan.

Visionplanner is a Dutch FP&A and reporting platform from Veenendaal, founded in 1996 and part of the Visma Group since April 2020. It sits one step above the bookkeeping system: actuals come in from Exact Online, Twinfield, Snelstart, Yuki, AFAS and the rest of the Dutch ledger landscape, and out come budgets, rolling forecasts, board reports, dashboards and the SBR-ready jaarrekening. The product is the daily tool of around four thousand accounting and administration firms and the planning environment for roughly two hundred and fifty thousand Dutch SMEs that they advise.

The point of pulling Visionplanner into a warehouse is that the budget and the forecast are too valuable to leave inside one application. Variance against plan, rolling thirteen-week cash, KPI trees that mix financial and operational drivers, multi-entity consolidations across client portfolios all want to sit next to CRM pipeline, fulfilment data and headcount in the same model. In a warehouse, Visionplanner becomes the source of truth for what the business said it would do, and the operational systems show whether it is happening.

What your Visionplanner data is for

  • Consolidated P&L across an accounting firm's whole client portfolio

Forecast automation

Let the planning tool keep pace with what the operational systems already booked.

Use Visionplanner history and KPI patterns to score plan risk and write the commentary.

  • AI-drafted variance commentary on the biggest movers
  • Forecast-quality scoring on prior plan-versus-actual accuracy
  • Anomaly detection on KPI series before they show up in the board pack

Custom apps on your data

Internal tools on Visionplanner data for people who should not need a planner licence.

  • Cost-centre owner view with their own variance and commentary
  • Client-portfolio cockpit for the partner reviewing twenty SMEs at once
  • Mobile board summary that updates the morning after close

Real business questions

Answers you will finally get.

Where is the budget breaking against the operational reality?

Plan from Visionplanner placed next to actuals from the ledger and operational drivers from CRM, fulfilment and rostering. The board sees not only that the variance exists, but which operational lever moved underneath it.

How accurate were the last twelve forecasts the firm signed off?

Each prior Visionplanner forecast scored against what eventually booked, by line and by entity. Forecast quality becomes a measurable thing the partner can improve, not a feeling at the year-end review.

What does the rolling cash position look like across the whole client portfolio?

Thirteen-week cash on receivables aging, payables and recurring revenue, rolled across every Visionplanner administration in scope. The accounting firm spots the client running into a covenant before the client does.

Value for everyone in the organisation

Where each function gets value.

For finance leaders

Plan, forecast and actuals on the same model, with variance commentary written against the same numbers everyone else sees. The month-end story is the same one the operational teams already know is true.

For sales leaders

Pipeline drivers feeding the revenue forecast in Visionplanner directly. Sales sees how its number lands in the plan instead of finding out at quarter-end that the planning baseline never matched the CRM.

For operations

Cost-centre variance per department head, with the operational driver visible underneath. A volume miss reads as a volume miss, not as a cost overrun that nobody can explain.

Ideas

What you can automate with Visionplanner.

Pair with Exact Online

Refresh Visionplanner actuals from Exact Online

Exact Online journal totals flow into Visionplanner on schedule, mapped to the planner's chart of accounts and cost centres. The accountant stops re-importing trial balances by hand each month and the variance report runs on whatever is booked at the time it runs.

Pair with Yuki

Pull Yuki actuals into Visionplanner

Yuki ledger movements land in Visionplanner as the actuals layer, with each Yuki administration mapped to its own Visionplanner entity. The Dutch SME on Yuki gets a planning view without giving the accountant a parallel spreadsheet to maintain.

Pair with SnelStart

Sync SnelStart actuals into Visionplanner

SnelStart bookings refresh the Visionplanner actuals layer per administration, so the SMB owner running SnelStart gets a budget-versus-actual view that matches the books exactly. No more reconciling two systems with slightly different period cuts.

Pair with AFAS

Feed AFAS actuals and headcount into Visionplanner

AFAS general ledger and personnel data refresh in Visionplanner together, so the personnel cost variance reads against actual headcount, not against a budget assumption that drifted three months ago. HR and finance read the same number for once.

Pair with HubSpot

Drive Visionplanner revenue forecast from HubSpot pipeline

HubSpot pipeline weighted by stage feeds the revenue forecast in Visionplanner, refreshed weekly. The plan stops drifting from the CRM and the partner reviewing the forecast sees the deals underneath the number, not just the line item.

Pair with Slack

Push Visionplanner board-pack alerts to Slack

When the period closes in Visionplanner, the board-pack summary, biggest variances and rolling cash position post to a finance Slack channel automatically. The board reads the headline before the meeting instead of in the meeting.

Three steps

From Visionplanner to answers in three steps.

01

Connect securely

OAuth authentication. Read-only by default. We sign a DPA and your admin keeps the keys.

02

Land in your warehouse

Data flows into your warehouse on your schedule. Near real time or nightly, your call. You own the data.

03

Reporting, automation, AI

We build the first dashboard, workflow or AI feature with you, then hand over the keys. Or we stay on for ongoing delivery.

Two ways to work with us

Pick the track that fits how you work.

Track 01

Self-serve

We set up the foundation. Your team builds on top.

  • Visionplanner connector configured and running
  • Warehouse set up in your cloud account
  • Clean access for your Power BI, Fabric or Tableau team
  • Documentation on what's in the data model
  • Sync monitoring so you're warned before reports break

Best fit Teams that already have a BI analyst or data engineer and want to own the build.

Track 02

Done for you

We build the whole thing, end to end.

  • Everything in Self-serve
  • Dashboards built to the questions your team actually asks
  • Automations between your systems
  • AI workflows scoped to real tasks your team runs
  • Custom apps where a dashboard does not cut it
  • Ongoing delivery at a pace that fits your team

Best fit Teams without in-house BI or dev capacity. You tell us what you need and we deliver it.

Before you book

Frequently asked questions.

Who owns the data?

You do. It lands in your warehouse, on your cloud account. We don't resell or aggregate it. If you stop working with us, the warehouse stays yours and keeps running.

How fresh is the data?

Near real time for most operational systems. For heavier sources we schedule hourly or nightly. You pick based on what the reports need.

Do I need a warehouse already?

No. If you don't have one, we help you pick one and set it up as part of the first delivery. Common starting points are Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a small Postgres start.

Does the connector handle accounting-firm portfolios with hundreds of client administrations?

Yes. Each Visionplanner administration lands in its own schema with a shared dimension layer for chart of accounts, cost centres and entities. A firm running hundreds of client plans can report per client, per partner portfolio and at firm level without merging exports out of the planner by hand.

Are SBR-coded jaarrekening lines preserved in the warehouse?

Yes. The SBR taxonomy mapping that Visionplanner uses for the Dutch jaarrekening rides along on the journal and consolidation lines, so warehouse reports can roll up against the same statutory line items the planner already publishes. Tax and management reporting stop diverging.
